Okay well you should have just told me you were spitballing like you do with a couple of buddies when you're in your shop smoking fattys. Otherwise, are you saying you think gold is going to become the international currency of trade? Please please tell me you are suggesting that. I need a comment like that in my life right now.

Always good to diversify but gold doesn't pay dividends. If I was to buy gold, I'd buy it and store it myself mind you.

Gold by it's very nature can never be considered the world's currency. It is a store of value, speculative in nature, and it's value is unstable. The only people claiming it as such are those who believe a return to the Dark Ages is impending or goldbug shills. People buy and store gold because they they believe it will continue to increase in value creating future wealth and/or the current economic system is going to collapse making precious metal the currency of trade. Nobody in their right mind believes it's officially or unofficially the world's currency. lol. Awesome stuff though, Keep it coming.

@Raiden I learned the hard way that @§andman will bitch and complain for years if he isn't at least invited to the rippers. I mean he was like 12 for my bachelor party and he still whines about it.

You're not getting a RHD that can play in our top four by trading Gardiner unless he agrees to an extension. Why would any GM do that?

Yes. No. The plan is to repeat ourselves, slowly and loudly, until the foreigners get it, apparently.

It is neither false nor misleading. If the US wants to default on their debt they will. If they don't, they won't. Period. They would literally have to make a congressional decision to stop producing dollars if they were in a situation where they needed to create dollars to make the payments on the debt. Good lord. Edit: That's the benefit of the debt being in the dollars you produce. Now, there are all kinds of potential ramifications of creating additional dollars but even to my surprise, they've handled that well so far because the risks taken were paid off in full with interest. There are far bigger economic worries in the US than the goddamned debt defaulting. Lol. The defaulting of the debt would already mean the US economy's goose is cooked. ie. a symptom of a far greater problem not the reason for the problem.

]That you just told me it's irrelevant that their debt is in USD is fall off a cliff laughing. Literally, I'm chuckling right now. You do not understand economics of the US like at all. You don't even understand how the debt ceiling is managed I've tried patiently to explain it you and these are the responses I get. I'll give you stubbornness but that's it. However, if you'd actually like to learn something that is more likely to significantly impact the long-term US economy, you need to move past your hate for Washington because it's given serious tunnel vision, like embarrassingly so, and start looking at international economics like China calling for a new global currency or the IMF moves to reduce the impact of the USD as the world's currency of trade. Until that happens, the effects of the USD "crashing" as you so laughably put it, are short-term indeed. Know your audience before you start spewing ignorance and using that ignorance to form the basis of your points.

Didn't he get booed even on the road against Tampa a little? Lol
  16. 1 point
It’s been stated by you, and others, that “it can only happen if they decide for it to happen.” This is false, or at least misleading. It doesn’t take a choice to make it happen, it takes stubbornness and stupidity. Neither of those are in short supply in Washington.

Nah, I’m pretty sure management was also booing Gardiner....
  18. 1 point
Nobody acts like it can't happen okay. It's been a thing ever since debt ceiling became a thing. You were given clearly the reasons why it's highly unlikely. In the face of logic and reasoning and information that you were unaware of, you've turned to the "anything can happen card" again. You play that card so long and so many times eventually you'll find yourself on the right side of the ledger but for the wrong reasons. If you're okay with that instead of critical analysis and trying to learn something deeper than superficial statements then so be it; you're entitled to analyze things however you please.

Gardiner is a very talented guy who has a huge offensive upside to his game, that many teams would love to have, especially going into the playoffs. This has a great deal of value to both the leafs and any team looking at acquiring him. Unfortunately, as leafs fans know, Gardiner also has brain farts on the D side of the puck, especially when pressured in his own end, and avoids contact like Uteck avoids facts. If Leafs keep Gardiner as "our rental" great, but if they can package him to bring in a rhd and let Muzzin slide back over to left side, then I think it's worth exploring.
