  1. Columbus would be able to make a couple interesting offers. Pierre-Luc Dubois and David Savard would be others that would interest me.
  2. Yes I'm fully aware he signed a contract extension and some could argue his trade value probably went up with the extension. I'm also speaking of things I'D like to see happen, not things that will happen. Especially with the cap situation we're currently in, I know a Johnsson for Kreider deal won't actually happen lol.
  3. I don't think acquiring Kreider would be all that difficult to be honest. I think the Rangers would be all ears if we were willing to include a guy like Johnsson. I just wouldn't include Johnsson unless we knew we were signing Kreider to some kind of contract extension. I think Kreider would be a way better fit along side Matthews opposed to Johnsson. Gives us some size upfront as well. Kassian on the other hand would be a hell no from me lol, he's the same shit as Martin and at least Martin was liked in the locker room.
  4. I'm all in on adding some toughness to the lineup but at the end of the day, that's not how Dubas' teams are built. And even though we lost to Boston again in game 7, I honestly think we out played them physically. The series came down to coaching and coaches making adjustments and we clearly lost that part. If there's one area I'd like us to improve on, it would be on Matthews left side. Someone like Kreider would be perfect.
  5. Well the family clearly took time off work and what not in order to be there by her side while she was in the hospital. They should definitely get compensated for what they would have made at work. I do agree though some of the totals are a little farfetched due to Ceci making millions. But just like contract negotiations, start high knowing it'll settle for less. Like I said before, very unfortunate situation for all parties involved.
  6. The one thing that surprises me is that this incident happened back in May and it's just becoming public. I'm sure the Maple Leafs were fully aware of this when trading for him.
  7. Sometimes it sucks when you make millions, clearly the siblings/lawyers are trying to take advantage of the situation since Ceci makes millions. Horrible and unfortunate situation though for all parties.
  8. Matthews hands down. Rielly, Tavares and Marner with A's.
  9. All very fair offers. Apparently Marner's camp wanted 3 years at 10 million per. I can see them kinda settling for anywhere between 9 and 9.5 on a 3 year term.
  10. Random thought, with Matthews, Tavares, Kerfoot and Spezza down the middle, I wonder if we'll still see Gauthier on the ice as a possible winger? His skating/foot speed has definitely gotten better the past two years and he is a big body that can easily come in and take a faceoff if Spezza or whoever gets kicked out. Could also be an option for the second PK unit. I wish he would just use his damn body more along the boards.
  11. At least 19 is above what he averaged last year... He should be at the 20 minute mark though.
  12. I'm sure we'll see them on waivers after pre-season. Even Gravel is a better option then those two lol.
  13. Basically what I had in mind for the third pairing! I wouldn't be upset if we gave him a 1 year deal or if we just go with Schmaltz as the third pairing dman. I think Schmaltz will surprise a few of us and be a solid third pairing dman regardless.
  14. Michael Stone just got bought out by the Flames. If it were a cheap 1 year deal, I wouldn't be against giving him a shot for the third pairing. Another right shot option.
  15. I feel like Marner is holding out as much as he can to get his 11.5 or whatever he's seeking but when it comes time to actually sign and be there in training camp he'll settle with 10 or 10.5. I've said this before but if I were Dubas I'd set a firm timeline for Marner to decide and if not start looking at possible deals.
  16. Unfortunately if it were that easy it probably would have been done a month ago lol
  17. Only shitty thing with a 3 year term, he finishes his contract right when Rielly will be up for an extension as well lol. There's no winning haha
  18. On a 3 year term, once the contract is complete Marner would still be an RFA correct? The following year would be his UFA legibility right?
  19. He did get overpaid but we weren't the only team showing a ton of interest in him at the time either. That was the contract that it took to beat out other teams unfortunately. At the end of the day it didn't work out and we got rid of the contract 2 years later.
  20. I think a lot of people knew the contract wasn't the best but adding someone that previously scored 30 goals and played a heavy game was a good addition at the time. Obviously it didn't work out the way everyone wanted it to lol. Luckily we got out of that contract two years after it.
  21. Not to mention he didn't even out play Curtis last year in pre-season, he was literally handed the backup role to have and blew it. He definitely won't be missed from the fans and I'm sure the players.
  22. Clarkson - Bolland - Kulemin hahaha, if they all lived up to their potential and stayed healthy it could have worked out really well.... Haha
  23. Kerfoot will be wearing #15 this season.
