  1. He was drafted 3 years ago now so it was probably just getting one of their picks signed and integrated into the organization. They have a firmer grasp on his development now as sometimes he'd get little to no ice time as a younger guy in the KHL. Now they can control his icetime directly and also supervise his off-ice routines.
  2. Let's hope he's good. Still really upset they passed on Debrincat but that's way in the past now.
  3. Keep in mind he was 21 so he should be expected to dominate when he's older and also a monster but impressive production nonetheless. Gives the Leafs a chance to fine-tune his skating and lets him adapt to the pro-game without taking up a spot on the 50 man roster. Hard not to love this.
  4. McGregor set career highs for the Sarnia Sting this year in his draft +2 year. 61GP- 25G 52A 77P. 2 goals in 4 playoff games. Good C depth. I wonder if the Marlies look to add Dakota Joshua as well now that his senior year is complete.
  5. Hailey Salvian‏Verified account @hailey_salvian 8h8 hours ago More Rasmus Sandin got the secondary assist on Adam Brooks' OT goal tonight in Bridgeport. This is Sandin’s 12th point in eight straight games, which is a new #Marlies franchise record for longest point streak by a defenceman
  6. I just said using options in house. Rielly and Muzzin are our 2 best defenders so I just stacked them on a line. I am well aware we need to do some work on the blueline and hopefully they are able to get a proper RHD to play alongside Rielly but as things stand what I posted is our best D configuration.
  7. I don't think the Leafs are going to rush Liljegren or Sandin. I know Dubas mentioned that if Liljegren had stayed healthy they wanted to give him a look this season but he got hurt around the WJC with the high ankle sprain and that ruined that. Only using in-house options our D next year is Rielly-Muzzin Dermott-Zaitsev Rosen-Holl Ozhiganov And then the Marlies get Sandin-Liljegren Borgman -Hollowell Lindgren-Durszak Rasanen
  8. We traded one of the Ruperts in the Phaneuf deal lmao. Ottawa is the gift that keeps on giving.
  9. SDA looked incredible this tournament. Worth remembering if he was born a day later his draft year would be this year. Bracco also looked really good. Excited to see him have a bigger role on the Marlies this year. Liljegren looked solid too. The give and go with SDA that lead to Grundstrom's PP goal against the Habs was very nice. Also hoping that 37 doesn't stick as Liljegren's number because gross.
  10. Leafs Rookie Tournament Roster announced: Roman Pucek stood out to me. Went undrafted this previous year and will be playing for the Soo this year but had 73 points in 41 games in the U18 Czech league and got 2 points in 4 games in the Czech version of the AHL. Plays LW and has some size at 6'2. Eli Zummack is other free agent invitee that stood out to me. Also undrafted this past season, had 41 points in 58 games for Spokane in the WHL. I would guess the Leafs saw a lot of him when they were out scouting Kral. He's only 5'9 but size hasn't prevented Dubas from giving players a look.
  11. Potentially, but there's no arguing the SHL (provided he gets ample ice time) will be a better challenge for him than the OHL. Plus he has his ELC signed so if anything management can bring him over to the Marlies at some point mid-season like they did with Nylander.
  12. I don't think there's room for him on the Marlies blueline on the left side with Rosen, Borgman, and Nielsen all ahead of him. Even if one of Rosen/Borgman is with the Leafs I don't think management wants Sandin playing 3rd pairing minutes.
  13. https://www.dinamoriga.lv/lv/zinas/kluba-zinas/dzierkals-un-gimajevs-papildina-dinamo-riga-sastavu Dzierkals signed with Dinamo Riga of the KHL for the next year. Not a big deal as the Leafs still own his rights until next June and the Marlies are still stacked on forward.
  14. It feels like it man. Square Enix really hit it out of the park.
