Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Don’t know if you watched it or not, but the ref clearly lost his composure. He tossed Casey for something a fan said Ffs

I saw it. And fans can bitch. Go nuts. (Maj literally questioned the rule book though, so read it.)

It wasn't actually that bad, either. The ref didn't lose composure, he thought Casey said it and had enough. DeRozan deserved both technical fouls. He earned them.

The Raptors themselves? I'll say it again, you are the best team in the East. You lost against a very good team, you barely lose these days, stop whining about the refereeing. Shut your damn mouths and play. It's not endearing you to anyone to be the whiney kid. Especially not the referees.

Casey handled it fairly well, certain on court he did. But even after, he was more like "we don't like it, we're gonna use the proper channels." The players? Not so much. And they gotta stop.

Really hope this is finally Raptors year to get out of the east. Kyrie out for playoffs.
Biggest concern though is that Cavs and 76ers are tied for 3rd. 76ers have had easiest schedule ever and losing any game to end season I'd be surprised with. Meaning that Cavs really could finish 4th and play Raptors in rd2. How much would that suck. You finish 1st and your reward is Lebron in rd2.

End of the day, you gotta face Lebron and beat him to get to the finals.

If they see them in the 2nd round, atleast I can end up disappointed sooner.

But it'd be nicer to at least face him in ECF, or see if some other team can take them out for us. But the Cavs-76ers game Friday night very likely decides 3rd place.

A Raptors-76ers matchup in the semis would be a playoff matchup 17 years in the making.

Well, it's official. Raps have their Eastern conference banner.

It's nice to see the big 3 Toronto teams have recent success. After a bunch of shit years, they've all had a decent amount of success and hype lately.

But with Cavs losing almost right afterwards, it almost for sure means Raptors-Cavs in 2nd round! Unless Pacers can pull off something crazy in 1st round against Cavs(Pacers have had Cavs number this year, though all games were vs the pre-deadline Cavs).

Crazy to see Toronto teams doing well. Argos as Grey Cup Champs, TFC as MLS Cup champs(and having Champions League success), Leafs having franchise record season, and same with Raptors! Even the 905 team is doing real well. They're off to the finals yet again.

Looking like a good chance Raptors play Wizards in playoffs(a Wizards loss tonight guarantees that). Those 2015 playoffs were no doubt the low point in this Raptors era. Either sports Gods are on our side, or they want some amusement. Leafs playing Bruins(game 7) and Raptors playing Wizards(sweep) at the exact same time? Getting chance to avenge both franchises most embarrassing playoff moment.

Wizards are struggling big time (6-13), but obviously in the NBA, that could mean nothing. They went 6-8 before the 2015 playoffs(and got swept by Raptors during season) and look how that ended up.

Heat win tiebreaker with Wizards(if both teams finish with 43 wins), and in the event of a 3 way tie between Heat/Wizards/Bucks(all teams at 44 wins), I believe Bucks will be the 8th seed.

They signed Ty Lawson yesterday, likely already knowing about this suspension.

Though obviously, something like this shouldn't even matter to the Raptors. Regardless if it's Meeks or Wall who isn't playing, Raptors as 1 seed should be able to beat the Wizards in 4-5 games, 6 at most.

This game shows why Raptors need more than DeRozan/Lowry.

DeRozan/Lowry Combined:
10/26 FG
7TO
15AST

Rest of team:
31/51 FG
10TO
16AST

Both had an ORTG of 101. Minus Poeltl and Powell(who played under 5 minutes) everyone else had an ORTG of at least 117.

From watching post-game interviews, looks like Lowry is sick. At least they're passing the ball more because in past years, we'd see Lowry firing up shot after shot after shot. This was the fewest FGs Lowry has ever attempted with Raptors in the playoffs, and 3rd most assists DeRozan has ever had. If these guys are gonna be shooting cold in playoffs again, pass it off. Especially this series where it looks like Ibaka and JV could have their way in the paint.
